A rival for the Apple AirPods
Despite Beats being acquired by Apple for the princely sum of $3 billion in 2014, there's speculation that Beats' new Powerbeats Pro could prove a worthy rival for Apple's own AirPods (2019).
The two true wireless earbud models actually share a lot of the same technology, utilizing Apple's proprietary H1 headphone chip, that the San Cupertino company says provides “faster connect times, more talk time, and the convenience of hands-free Siri”.
Despite shared connective technology, the Apple AirPods (2019) are designed for casual listening, while the Powerbeats Pro are squarely aimed at the workout crowd, with a water-resistant design and ear hooks to keep them safely in your ear while you're running.
