Oppo has launched the Oppo Reno series of phones, which poses a novel solution to the issue of where pop-up cameras sit on a phone.
At a launch event in Zurich, Oppo announced three phones – the Oppo Reno, Oppo Reno 5G, and the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom.
The Oppo Reno 5G is a 5G-enabled version of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom (yes, that's really the name), which is the higher-end counterpart to the base Oppo Reno.

There's no word on when the phones will release in the US, UK or Australia at this point, as release dates are currently only available for an few different European countries.
The Oppo Reno will be available from May in a few countries, and will cost €499 (roughly $560, £430, AU$795).
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom will launch at some point in June for €799 (around $895, £690, AU$1,270), although there's no word on where it'll launch.
The Oppo Reno 5G will be available to buy in Switzerland from May, although there's no news of if or when it'll be available elsewhere, and it costs €899 (around $1,000, £780, AU$1,430).
What do Reno so far?
The unique feature of the phones is the 'shark-fin' pop-up camera, which houses the front-facing camera and speaker. This opens in just under a second, and has a built-in feature that recognizes if you drop the phone so it can close itself.
Normal photography is also a feature of the phones, especially in the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom which has a three-lens setup – it's named after the fact you can digitally zoom into pictures you've already taken for up to ten times zoom, without losing quality.
Other important features in the phones are their 4,065mAh batteries, their fast-charging capabilities, and the unbroken full screen you get as a result of the front-facing camera being a popup fin.
All of these features sound great on paper, but do they work in practice? We'll get hands-on with the phones to find out.
